I recently visited this cafe for the first time with a friend who had been here before. She wanted to try different dessert items because her first visit was such a great experience. The vibes here are fantastic! I absolutely loved the decor and the theme of the cafe. It's clear that a lot of thought went into creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The freshly baked pastries give the place an amazing, sweet aroma that's hard to resist, making it even more welcoming. The pastries we ordered were incredible! They had the perfect balance of sweetness and were light and airy, making them a delight to eat. The presentation of the desserts was also so appealing--it made them even more irresistible. I enjoyed them so much that I couldn't resist taking another one to-go for later. The service was friendly and quick, adding to the overall pleasant experience. This is definitely an amazing place to check out if you're in the area. Whether you're looking for a quick coffee break or a sweet treat to enjoy, this cafe offers a little something for everyone. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

This bakery is walking distance from Van Ness transit station. After perusing all the options, I selected the Eggplant & Feta Bourek ($5.50 + 6% employee benefits mandate). +The pastry was warm and flaky; didn't feel greasy or oily. +Sesame seeds added a fragrant toasty flavor. -There was a small amount of filling, which was salty and didn't taste like eggplant. Their plates are so pretty and the cafe is a cute, comfy place to relax. *Verdict: I wouldn't get this again, but I'd want to try the desserts if I came back.

Offering pastries inspired by the Jewish Diaspora, Loquat's not your standard bakery! I love experiencing new flavors, and Loquat introduced me to mahlab, a spice made from cherry seeds. Inside is super cute with velvet couches and gold tiles at the display case, and the pretty pink and blue ceramic dishware really adds to the vibe. Seating is relatively limited, so I'd have a takeout plan as a backup. Loquat incorporates many fragrant elements from florals and spices. I really enjoyed the mahlab cake and olive oil spelt cake with earl grey glaze, which wasn't too sweet. The Turkish coffee cream tart was salty, sweet, and deliciously rich, and splitting it with my boyfriend was just about right. All these sweet treats paired perfectly with a cappuccino or latte. Loquat's one of my favorite bakeries in the city, and I can't wait to keep trying more of their goods!

Went to Loquat on a Sunday morning. The place was busy but we were able to find a table after waiting for 10 minutes. We tried a few items and the sandwich pictured on the right was the best item by far. We felt the other two items were average the bottom one being a chocolate item (stated to be one of their specialties). These items weren't amazing or wowed us but were nice and light. The coffees were also decent. I think I'd love to be back at least one more time to try different items! They have very interesting special items that seem to rotate that we hope to try next time we are back!
